Car Safety and Security Tips – Auto Safety (Security of Systems of a Car)

Cars are always carefully designed and constructed to offer the best services to users for several years. The lifespan of most cars are usually above 20 years. These machines are made to be very easy and safe to use

The security of the car owner is placed at the center of the design and construction targets. However, car accidents always occur and it is difficult to totally avoid road car accidents because there are environmental, physical  factors and other  variables which are beyond the control of man.

A) STATE OF A CAR

Always maintain your car in it’s best state by carrying out daily maintenance (Daily Servicing). Daily servicing tasks include Changing Oil, Verifying Levels, Adjusting, Cleaning etc. This ensures that you use your auto safely and profitably.

The most important Safety Precautions to respect include:

1) BREAKS: Verify that the breaks are functioning correctly

2) STEERING: Verify the sound operation of the steering.

3)TRANSMISSION: Verify the transmission oil level.

4) ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: Verify the that the batteries of the electric installation are working properly and are in a good state. Make sure all lighting and signals are working. Headlamps, side lights, Brake light and others must  shine when switched on.

B) CAR (AUTO) SAFETY RULES AND RECOMMENDATIONS

1) ELECTRICITY:
- Never replace a damaged fuse with others with higher calibration values. This can cause a fire.
- Do Not  work on any components of the car like the Engine Alternator(generator that recharges the car battery) or the Starter when the car engine is on and running.
- Always disconnect the negative end of the battery before working on the electrical circuit of the car.
- When servicing the car battery, be very careful and avoid the Acid contained in the battery from touching your skin.

2) FUEL
- Never refill the fuel tank when the car engine is on and functioning.
- Do Not smoke when refilling the fuel reservoir. This can cause a serious fire accident which can  be fatal to the user.

3) COOLING LIQUID (RADIATOR)
If the level of cooling fluid must be verified when the engine is on, take the following precautions:
- Unscrew the lead of the radiator slowly to the safety stop (approximately 1/4 of a cycle or turn).
- Pause for a moment to allow vapour to escape.
- Continue unscrewing the lead while pressing down on the lead in order to free the safety hook.
